drag radials on stock rim

RE: drag radials on stock rim
I did it last year with no problems. The rim is a little narrow but I compensated for that at the track by running them at 12-15 psi. They hooked like crazy. This year I did go with some 17x9 bullets for my drag radials. A lot of people on here have done it with little or no problems.
Here is a video of a burnout at the last year, you can see the Mickey's on the stock rims.

Disclaimer: this is know way telling you you won't have any issues. I'm just telling you I did not.

I use that setup at the strip, but I do not drive to the track on them. No issues down the 1/4 and back. You can feel it get a little squirrly once you get up there in speed tho. Mostly due to the underinflated tire ran on the strip.

With proper pressure, sure they will ride ok. just avoid and aggresive turning, and take it easy on the gas so you dont put too much wear on them.
Looks a little funny too, lol. Next time Ill snap pics with the 275/40/17 on the rear and 255/45/18 on front.

They are little short. I had some ricers laughing at them at the track once, but they shut up after they got stomped on. I am planning on going with M&H racemasters this season. They make a 275/50 and 325/45, both of which fill the wheel wells nicely. Surprisingly M&H claims the 325's will fit fine on a 9" rim.
