Default Long tubes or short tubes

Ok i was wondering is the Lt's really worth the extra money over the short tubes as far as performance goes. Also i've been hearing that the flowmasters give you extra hp is that true also. Sorry i know these have been asked before, but im in a bind and dont know what to do. Im wondering if i should even do anything else to my exhaust i have catted X pipe, and spintech mufflers.

axle back mufflers will get you very minimal if any hp gains. the flows compared to the spintechs will be much softer, i had spintechs before and they were louder than my boomtubes. and the shorties will also get you 5 hp maybe, the stock exhaust manifolds are already pretty good, thats why everyone will say to get the LT's. and i'll PM you some info about hawaii and shops to go to.

On "HORSEPOWER TV" this week, they had a Mustang on the dyno, tested it, then added a Roush muffler of some kind - they immediately ran it again and showed an increase of 11 rwhp. I have heard Flowmasters are even better, and they have been dynoed on that show also. You never know what to believe though.

yea i saw the same show on USA, they were installing a stage 3 roush package on an '06 GT i think it actually picked up 16 rwhp w/ the axle back it had 353 w/ the roush SC and 369 w/ the axle back. idk must be some sort of dyno voodoo.

i also saw on a previous show where they suggest adding a throttle body spacer for increased hp and mpg's, so that kinda ruined their credablity w/ me.

LT's are worth it... they really added a lot to mine combined with the x pipe. I had JBA shorties... didnt really make a noticable difference.

You have short tubes on your car already from the factory. There is no reason to ever justify buying shorties...

L/T's all the way...

iAGREE WITH a.akawiAND modaddict.I plan to s/c so I will keep stock. As far as axel back I went with Flowmaster because I had themin my 89 LX. The 2006 GT flowmasters sound better than stock but nothing like the ones in my 89 LX (by any stretch). As far as performance gains I did not have it dyno'd and did not feel any difference !
