Default XCAL2 & DEAD GAUGE CLUSTER

Tonight I was switchingbetweenBreenspeed tunes using my SCT Xcal2. When I plugged the SCT Xcal2into the OBDII port I followed the directions as required. When I selected the tune it instructed me to "turn the key on do not start". I did so but the SCT Xcal2 kept blinking "turn the key on do not start" and would not let me go further. I aborted the process, turned off the key,and unplugged the SCT Xcal2.
I tried this two more times and then triedseveral other menu options and got an "error unable to read..." message on the SCT Xcal2 and I aborted. On the fourth try it went through the process and allowed me to load the tune. At the point where it instructed me to "turn off the key and press select" I did so and the SCT Xcal2went dark and my entire instrument cluster went dark. I now have no idiot lights (w/the exception of the airbag light), no dash lights, no interior turn signals, and no instruments (all read zero). The car starts and idles ok but I am afraid to drive it for fear of damaging something else. Everything else seems to work (headlights, tail lights, turn signals radio, A/C interior overhead light etc...) Now when I plug in the SCT Xcal2 it does not come on.I have switched back and forth between these tunes and various others in the past w/o any problemsusing this SCT Xcal2. It almost sounds like a fuse issue but that would not answer as to why the SCT Xcal2 was acting up prior to everything going dark unless the SCT Xcal2 was shorting out. I have an email into Brent and I am waiting for his response. Thoughts?

It's one of the fuses behind the panel on the passenger side under the dash.

My Xcal2 blew one of the fuses that caused the ODBII port to stop working.

Thanks, that's good news. Any idea which fuse? Is it located behind the panel in the passenfer footwell? I wasn't aware there was a seperate fuse panel behind the dash on the passenger side.

The user's manual will tell you which fuse. It's a red one. I only remember which fuse it is by pointing it out...and I can't do that here.

Yes it's behind that little panel on the passenger side. When you take that off, there will be another thing that comes off with the fuses behind it. There's also a little fuse removal tool there too.

Once you find out which fuse it is, make sure and buy a number of them b/c this won't be the last time you'll need to replace it I'm sure.

Same exact thing happened to me. No gauges/speedo..nothing. It's fuse#8 behind the kick panel.

You were right. Blown #8 fuse. Replaced it and solved the problem. Another happy customer. Thanks.

You guys are all using SCT XCal's?

Never had that happen to me with the DiabloSport Predator. I wonder if it is SCT specific or has this happened to people using Predators - anyone?

i've had mine blow on a couple of occassions....all my fault. Here's what i've learned, when using your xcal make sure everything else is off in the car. do not plug in your xcal with the headlights on, and don't use it while refueling. both occassions have blown the same fuse.
