Reading Whipple's directions, the sliding idler pulley is adjusted so that the tensioner is at max (closkwise) position. This may or may not be all the way to the bottom on the sliding pulley.

Make sure it's tight and it's not a big deal as others have already said. The idler sometimes needs to be worked a little and as log as it's tight, it will work itself comfortably in a little time.

I checked and it seems really tight. Should i loosen it and re-tighten it? I also called spoke with john and he said it might be the belt when i described the squeak but said i should be fine. Thanks for the help guys.

The tensioner should line up like so if you have the sliding tensioner adjusted correctly.

Thanks for the close up pic Moose! I will check it again later tonight.
By the way, that pic is from Dustin@whipplesuperchargers and mine is not quite that tight. According to him it needs to line up with that bolt like so in order to take up enough belt slack at WOT. That was posted on another forum in a thread about belt slipping/breaking problems.

I'm still using the stock belt after 8k miles and 2 passes down the 1/4. If you don't power shift then you shouldn't have a problem.

I have the exact same problem and dont have a few thousand miles on it yet! (maybe 500) I will check mine against the pic from Hammeron and Moose and see how well they are lined up and if they are tight.....thanks guys! J

EDIT: I have also read if you are getting belt slip (which I am not sure if I am but will test more this year-might be the clutch but doubt it) you can get a 8 rib kit and a new tensioner and problem solved...(read on another forum).

I have been getting squeaking from one of the pulleys. Not sure which one only at start up when the engine is cold. After it warms up for a minute the squeak slowly goes away. What do you guys think it is? Belt rubbing on pulley? Loose pulley?
