If you do end up getting the non-intercooled kit the install on that would be really simple. I wouldnt waste the money on paying for install. If you have the money for the install just getthe intercooled kit.

Can it be done with regular tools &no mechanical knowledge other than that provided by the installation instructions?

Also,
The s/c w/o intercooler should not run too hot (even in 90 degree weather) if it is only creating 6-7 pounds of boost, pushing roughly 380-400 rhp.
Answer me if I am wrong, but I would think that pushing 8-10 pounds non-intercooled is when the trouble begins.

You should be able to get 425RWHP with a good tune. $3300 is in the right price range for non IC Vortech or Paxton. I would not worry about the intercooler unless you plan to run more boost later. I would look at the Self Lubricating units from Paxton or Vortech so you dont have to run oil lines. You just change the blower oil via a convienient drain line every 7500 miles after the first 2500 mile break in change. Then you might be able to do it yourself with basic hand tools.

I got mine for $1900 used, so I'm not sure $3300 is a good deal. Keep in mind you'll pay $600+ for installation, and another $200 for a custom dyno tune (if you go that route), a few hundred bucks in gauges (which are required, IMHO), etc.
I agree with that 420rwhp is doable without being cooled, but once you feel the power, you'll want more. Trust me.

I read the installation manual for the non-HO s/c and though I have no mechanical experience, I believe I can install the system seeking only help with the add on boost-a-fuel pump. It really doesn't look hard in theory, but getting everything to fit right in reality is different.
I honestly believe 400RHP is the mark I would be satisified. I don't need super huge numbers, just enough to keep a grin on my face.
I want to build a well balanced ride, besides, THERE IS ALWAYS A BIGGER DOG ON THE BLOCK. So I don't want to get into a $ spending competition with others just to find out who swings a bigger d1ck.

I have the non intercooled Vortech and with an automatic i have 401 rwhp and 371 rwtq. It has a conservation tune. I have about 3500 miles on the supercharger. I left the 410 gears in with the supercharger.
