RE: failed marta
thanks guys for the feedback. i just took off the c&L cai and tuned it back to stock. takes 10 min. and yes i do have to go to a state facility. i can check it at the dealership to make sure the monitors are ready and on. i think the tuner turned them off in his tune. due to the fact better to run rich than lean when doing any power adder. she is my daily driver andi haven't had a problem out of her yet. knock on wood. but since last night i have a new respect for the tune that i have uploaded at all times. these cars stock just aren't where they could be. and damn the throttle lag. thanks again for the responses. let you know what happens when i check the readiness status later today.

RE: failed marta
Understand that it not everything will always go "ready" in one drive cycle (which should start from 'cold'). If something doesn't you may have to let it completely cool (think overnight) and run the drive cycle again.
Ford may well have a specific drive cycle that's intended to minimize the time it would take one of their techs to get a car to ready status - I know from personal experience that GM has just such a procedure (and that in some stubborn cases it has to be run two or even three times). I have the '08 Mustang FSM, just not on my work computer, so I don't know for sure.
Edit: What's a marta?

RE: failed marta
i understand the drive cycles and how they work. i tell customers with land rovers they have to drive them almost 100 miles. running the car for a little while and then letting it cool down and running it again. that is why i am going to check them with the handheld here before i go back to the inspection facility. and make sure they are ready. if they are not then it will be a ford problem. and they can fix it. might as well since everything is back to stock now let them work on it for a few little things that i have noticed over the past yr.

After reinstalling your S197's stock intake and tune,it's recommended that you drivefor at least 50 miles or 20-30 minutesin order for the ECU's "Readiness Monitors" to properly set themselves.

RE: failed marta
thanks for the help. i think i have put almost 90 miles on her so far. kinda shocked at how well the car runs untuned. forgot how it felt to be running stock again. i am going to test the readiness monitors in a little bit andif they are ready going back to the test facility. might even keep itstockfor a littlebit. esp with the way gas is right now.$3.75/galfor 93 in nashville right now. plus when i put it back on then it will feel like it did when ifirst put it on.
