Default Corsa Alignment Prob

Ok guys, since I can't do any searching on the forum I will post the question here.
I got the Corsa mufflers ( 14311 ) for the 06 GT.
When my Dad and I put them on, we had a problem getting them lined up correctly.
We followed the instructions that came with the mufflers to a tee and tried everything we could to adjust but never could get them exactly the way they should be.
Thedrivers side is lined up with the fascia but just a little to low. Then going the passengers side we got them lined up but they are still just a little lower than than the drivers side.
Also on the passenger's side, the hanger closest to the front of the car would not fit all the way through the rubber. It is only about a 1/4 inch up in the rubber.
When I start up the car cold and it idles down to about 1200 rps there is a sonic vibration up through the shifter.
All bolts are tight to torque specs too.
I know something isn't right. Hope I didn't get a bum pair.
I've heard so many good things about the fitments, quality and sound. That is why I bought them.
Any ideas?

Can't help you with your real problem, but for an alternate method of searching, try using Google . . .

just add the expression site:MustangForums.com[/b] to whatever basic search term(s)

I bought some pipes violators and one fit perfect in the facia and one didnt.

I dont know what tools/skills you have but I cut the hanger and rewelded it in a different place and now they are both perfect.

If you cant do it, I am sure any exhaust shop could do it.

Good luck.

You have to adjust how far you slide the muffler onto the midpipe. I had my father hold the muffler tip in the proper place while I torqued the exhaust clamp on the muffler. Just loosen up the exhaust clamps, align it and get someone to hold the tip where it should be then crawl under the car and torque the exhaust clamp and you should be good. If you want the tips to hide more under thebumper or stick out further, loosen up the midpipe clamps and you can push the whole midpipe and axleback assembly back and forth from the muffler tips.

+1, also if it's just a matter of height, you can take a large box wrench and put it on the hanger pin withthe wrench hanging down. Pull the bottom of the wrench toward the front of the car, this will bend the hanger pin down and lift the muffler up. Worked like a charm for me.

I have the ford Service Information CD for my car and I am having a problem understanding exactly what to loosen.
I called Corsa and sent them pics and they told me I had athree clamp system. By looking on the diagram I only see two clamps.
One for the muffler and one for the mid pype. The guy at Corsa stated that I need to slide the H-Pype back, but I think he may have been referring to the mid pype. Not sure.
I have uploaded the exploded view of my exhaust and I can't see clearly three clamps but I see three nuts.
Any input would be good.

There's a great write-up by TacoBill in the "How-To" section on installing the FRPP Stingers that includes some good info on tip alignment that involves loosening the midpipe and it has pics. This technique should apply to any system.

Thanks everyone for the information.
Your input let me know that I had done everything that I could possibly do in order to get the exhaust lined up correctly.
I made the decision yesterday to take it to a very reputable exhaust shop and let them do what they could.
The shopended up having to make some serious bends in the hangers in order to get them correct.
They look great now and I can rest with that.

Thanks again.

One last tip...it may sound a little cheesy but it works. I installed shims Inside the rubber openings inside the exhaust hangers to move them around a bit. If you've got themufflers close but notexactly were you want them, this will help you move them that last little bit.
