Mine works fine, it even throws out some ice pieces every now and then. I don't use mine unless it's really hot because it makes the engine feel like crap under hard acceleration. I don't think the whipple and A/C compressor work well together.

I wonder if this is an '06 problem. My '06 seems like it should cool a little better, but what do I know?

My 06 seems like it should be cooler also ... I have to take some vent temp readings one of these days ...

Your right and I must admit that i've never used WOT with the A/C on, so i don't know, but over 1/2 throttle (enough to close the bypass valve) it doesn't feel right to me.

Tinted windows help tremendously!! That said, it's a little hard for me to say whether or not the a/c in the Stang is good, bad, or somewhere in the middle because my windows are tinted. My a/c generally cools off the car pretty quickly and I can run it on the 1st or 2nd setting to keep it cool. BUT, I have noticed that it doesn't work as efficiently when I'm sitting still and idling. Last weekend I got stuck on I-57 in Illinois, literally not moving for 45 minutes because there was some flooding over the highway a few miles up, and while we were sitting still all that time, my wife commented that it was getting warm in the car. I hadn't noticed it much until she said that because I thought I was just getting heated because I was angry about sitting still on the highway, but she was right. I realized the car wasn't as cool as it was even though it was on the same setting we used while cruising at 75 mph. Had to crank it up to the third setting to cool it down again, but once we finally started driving again, it cooled down in a heartbeat and we had to lower the a/c back down to its original setting.

Long-winded story summarized: it seems higher rpms help the a/c work more efficiently.

If the compressor is cycling, its got enough freon to
activate the high pressure cut-out switch. If the compressor
stays engaged continously but the cooling is not up to snuff,
it could be low freon or something else wrong. A bad or stuck
hi pressure switch would cause the compressor to run continously
regardless of the high side pressure and eventually cause the
evaporator to freeze up and this would diminish the cooling
capabilities of the Stangs A/C system. A/C systems are finicky.
A high/low pressure manifold would help diagnose the problem.
No guage? Take it to the professionals.

So, i brought the car in and they said it only needed a recharge. Then i remembered that when i put the guage on the other day to measure it, i didnt have the a'c on MAX cool. (where it should be when measuring) [sm=headbang.gif] Giving me a false reading in the red saying there is something wrong with my system.

Good thing was, they covered it under warr. so im happy.
