A/C performance
I'm surprised no one has said this yet...but it's the design of our A/C system. I have an 06, and thankfully I live in Chicago where it doesn't get too hot, but on days when the temp is really up there, like 95 degree + days, it takes forever for my car to cool. I put it on max, and 10 minutes later it's comfortable...but if I turn it down to 2 or so the car heats right back up. I notice if I put my hands inside the vents the air is freezing...but like 2 inches away from the vents, the air is warm as hell! How the hell does the air go from freezing to like 70 degree air in 2 inches?! I swear it's the design of the system...there is too much heat near the A/C ducts thatis taking away the cold air. The A/C system on our cars works, technically, but the poor design of how they ran the ducts and the heat leak through the firewall, floorboads, and exhaust takes away all the coldness of the air so that by the time the air hits you, it's already 70 degrees.
I notice the air is colder on speed 1 than speed 4...anyone else notice this? I believe it is because the air is being pushed out faster than it can be cooled...or because the heat from the engine is taking away the coolness of the air.
Lastly, if you are sitting at a stoplight in warm weather, roll down your windows. I can feel heat rising up to my window from the heat of the exhaust, and I'm stock. Similarly, you can feel it through the floorboards, too, if you take off your shoes and drive. This car generates a crapload of heat, especially on hot days, and that's what kills the A/C in my opinion. Poor design...

One thing that I've done that has improved the a/c's ability to cool is the installation of rear window louvers. Due to the angle of our front and rear windows, there's a lot of BTU input into our cars. The louvers probably cut the heat load by about 1/3rd or more. Too bad you vert owner's can't take advantage of that.
ive got an 06 coupe and my AC seems to cool just fine. i usually only put it on max for a couple minutes and then leave it on 2 to maintain and it does the trick on 90 degree days. havent experienced a 100 degree day with my car yet however. in comparison to my dads liberty and civic, id say my car cools quicker.
