06 GT Fuel Pump Upgrade

06 GT Fuel Pump Upgrade
I am looking to do a fuel pump upgrade on my 06 GT. I know ford racing makes a GT500 kit for my car, but it is expensive. Is there any other option??? I am looking for reliability and scalability for future power adders. I have a nitorus kit on now, but will be looking to go to a super charger in the future.
Also if I upgrade the fuel pump, do I need to upgrade the fule rails and injectors?
Any advice, insight, or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Brian

RE: 06 GT Fuel Pump Upgrade
There are other options. It really depends on how much power you think you will be making.
A Boost a Pump with the wiring upgrade will get you to about 500rwhp. Past that you should look into switching to higher flowing pumps. I ran 480rwhp on a BAP for a year without prob.
I recently switched to dual GT pumps(also wasn't looking to drop $700 on pumps). The biggest thing wityh these pumps is the wiring. The stock wiring makes these pumps flow about as much as i was making with a BAP. After upgrading the wiring, they flow much better. Waiting on an FPDM i ordered. After i get it installed and have each pump running off its own FPDM this should flow better than a gt500 setup for about 1/2 the price.
The gt500 setup is expensive, but is plug and play. The gt500 pumps don't flow as much as the gt pumps, but the included harness uses a heavier gauge wire and the kit includes a second FPDM. No need to upgrade wiring because its built into the setup.
The stock lines and rails are good to about 600rhwp. 39 lb injectors will get you into the 500 rwhp range and offerbetterdriveablilty than larger injectors. Not sure at what level the 60's become necessary.

RE: 06 GT Fuel Pump Upgrade
Thanks for the heads up on BAP. I haven't heard of them before. I definetly will stay below 500rwhp. Once I need more than that it will either be time toredo the bottom end.
What size are the stock injectors and what would a set of 39lb ones cost???
Also what is FPDM stand for??
Thanks in advance for the info.

RE: 06 GT Fuel Pump Upgrade
I believe the stock injectors are 24 lbs/hr. The 39 lb injectors are the blue ones from the 03, 04 Cobra. New, they are in the $300 range, but its easy to find them used for much less.
FPDM (Fuel Pump Driver Module) is the box in the trunk near the spare tire. This is what communicates with the PCM and sends the proper current to the fuel pumpto acheve the required fuel flow. While the FPDM's in the 05's and up are able to handle more current than earlier models, it's still better to have a separate FPDM for each pump. Trying to run too much current through one can cause is to fail.

I will have some 39 pound injectors available for purchase when I get my car back in a week or two. We can strike a deal if you would like them. They have about 5,000 miles on them.
