I am probably going to go with the DDX7015 myself, or the updated version ( think it is the 6016, don't remember the model ). I just have not been able to talk myself into spending that kind of jack on something that doesn't make it go faster!

Do you have the head unit yet? I am curious about the video inputs on it. See, the reason I want to go with a video screen is obviously the navigation unit, but also I want to remove my trunk lock and replace it with a 26mm 120 degree color camera, wire it to the video screen and use it for a backup camera ( since you can see so well out of these things ). So, does the 7015 have an input for a reverse camera, or just plain video inputs? I have seen some inexpensive ( compaired to the Kenwood ) double din head units that have an input marked "reverse radar". The theory behind it is when they sense a signal on that input, it automatically switches to that input. Which would be perfect. You wire the power source of the camera to either your reverse light switch, or the backup lights themselves. When you put it in reverse, the camera comes on, the video screen switches to that input. When you take it out of reverse, it goes back to the original video source. I really hope the Kenwood has a similiar feature, but have not found anyone that has bought one yet to ask.

I have the DDX7015 in both my 05 Saleen S281 and my 05 H2 SUT. I had the back-up camera installed in the Hummer as it is hard to see behind it. The video pops-up as soon as the car is started or put into reverse. It is really nice. In my Saleen I have:

Kenwood DDX7015
Kenwood TV tuner
Kenwood IPOD Adaptor
JL Audio 1000W mono amp
JL AUdio 450W 4 ch amp
JL Audio 300W 2 ch amp
Boston Acoustic PROs front and back
2 12 inch JL Audio Subs
Kept the 8inch door subs from the Shaker
Audio control EQS
K40 radar detecter with lazer diffuser

Needless to say it is sweet.

So it does auto switch to the backup camera. Kewl. Is it a propritary camera?
I have also been considering the Eclipse AVN2454 or the Eclipse AVN5435. Especially since both of those have the navigation system built right in to them, no external equipment to hide.

I considered the Eclipse 2454 model. I chose the Kenwood because it had the external hardware. With the Eclipse there are two drives. One is DVD and one is CD. The DVD drive will hold your NAV DVD. So, when you want to pop in a movie DVD you have to take out the NAV DVD. I didn't like that. The negative about the Kenwood is that the pre-amp voltage is low (2 volts) compared to the Eclipse models. If you are a perfectionist like me you may want to add a line driver to boost the voltage.

I say after you install all THAT... you will need to replace the Battery and Alternater.

AND maybe always insolated rubber gloves when driving to avoid electrocution!

Kenwoods cool, but im more of a fan of the pioneer for a head unit. The l7 is raw though. You'll be knocking, but you will also be rattling, i suggest loads of dynomat. Possible a cap, or an extra battery. That gt stock altenator will be dry within a year.

HELP!!!!!!

I changed my factory deck to a sony deck and now none of my panel controls work(air, defrost, etc...) I have checked my connections and there are 3 factory plugs and my deck only neeede one. I have also tested all of the fuses and they are good? Anyone else have this issue? Do you have to use factory deck for air controls to work?

Any advise would be great!!!!
