Default proper way to clean c&l air filter

hey guys im about to have to clean and re-install my air filter for the c&l racer intake. i looked on c&l website and they dont offer a cleaner. just a replacement. can these air filters be cleaned the same way you clean a k&n or should i just pay the $40 and get a new one to put on? thanks for the info.

The K&N cleaning kit works fine. Just follow the instructions.

also you don't want to oil it up to much or else you will have it running down the filter.

that will be the least of your worries... excessive air filter oil can (and will) be pulled through CAI and coat your MAF sensor wires.. you'll know it when that happens. As everyone suggested, follow the K&N instructions carefully. Another option is to go with a dry filter (no oil coating). http://www.amsoil.com/StoreFront/eaau.aspx
