Default Whipple Pulley/Belt issue

I have been having an issue lately, with my belt skipping back a tooth on the powersteering pump and the toothed pulley next to it. Here is the situation. Oh, its a H/O whipple 5-spd car, Gen II with a 3.250 pulley at 11 psi.

I started upmy car a couple weeks ago, and got this aweful belt squeek. I popped the hood and noticed that my 6-ribbed belt had now become a 5-ribbed belt. The rib closest to the engine block had vanished.

Upon further inspection, I noticed that the small accessory on the bottom driver's side of the engine (I am just guessing power steering), and pulley on the block next to it (closer to the crank, and which has teeth, not smooth like the idler) had some how moved the belt back a step closer to the block. So all of my other pulleys have a missing belt on the block side, where as these two pulleys now have missing belt towards the front side (radiator side).

I loostened my tensioner, and replaced the belt on the 2 incorrect pulleys, and the belt squeel went away completely. Now, it seems everytime I hammer on it, the belt does its "jump" thing again on those 2 pulleys. I have had to switch them 3 times now.

Ok, so here is my question. Has anyone seen this before? What I am afraid of, is I have ordered the new belt from Napa, and I don't want this on to sip again, and loose one of its ribs, if that is what infact ate the 6th rib. Why does the belt jump back on only those 2 pulleys? There is mischief afoot in my engine bay.

have you put a straight edge on the
tensioner, to see if it looks bent or
warped

Neg. I guess I should?

Oh, and I sometimes when I pound it into third, I get a delayed response from the blower, almost like it is slipping. It only lasts about a half a second, but it noticable.

PS. What did you have to do to get the cams to work with the blower? Did you have to reprogram?

i always suspect the tensioner first,
it's the one item that can get bent
out of shape the easiest and will cause
belts to break or shred

It's straight. I moved the belt back into the correct position, and started her up. Everything under there looks correct. The only thing i can think of is the belt is moving on one ot the smooth idlers when I jam on th gas, and with the lack of the 6th rib, it has no reason to stay towards the front on the problem pulleys. My new belt should be here tomorrow. We will see what happens.
