Finding the squeaky pulley.

You can use a real long screw driver, not a pry bar and put it to the tensioner and idler pulleys. In the center where the bolts are. Touch the tip to the center bolts and put your ear to the handle. the noise gets loudest when your on it or near it. You can then put the tip on the altenator case and a/c compressor case if the other two dont give you the sound. Or go to a cheapo tool store or Sears and buy a stethiscope. it will have a metal rod attached to it and looks like a doctors one they use to check ur heart and lungs. BE VERY CAREFUL YOU DONT PUT IT ON ANY ROTATING PARTS LIKE PULLEYS OR THE BELT. The center bolt on pulleys dont spin so your safe at that location. Prior tech, now I teach at Wyotech.

the stethescope trick is a good one. my bet is one of the idler pulleys, either one of the smooth ones or the grooved one. it is hard to locate it w/ just your ear. i had the same problem, then went overboard and got the 8 rib kit, solved the problem but was expensive.
