Could a dirty TB cause a high cold start idle?
#12
I've contacted him about it, and he's issued me a new tune to correct it but it hasn't made a difference. Right after the flash, on a cold start it will behave normally, rev up to around 1500rpm then drop down. Then after a couple days it will start revving to 2000-2200rpm.

When is the last time you cleaned your filter, If It's cold and has any kinda extra resistance it will idle higher, Easy way to rule out your filter is to pull it off for a second start it watch your rpms if it's the same then it's not the filter. Also you may want to look over your CAI, TB.... and make sure nothing has gotten knocked out of wack. Your MAF sencor can mess with things to if its dirty.

Mine does this too and it started after I put my o/r h pipe on. I recently switched back to stock h pipe for a few months and the car started like normal (no high rev). After I put the o/r back on it revs much higher at start up again.

Well, I guess it's a good thing I'm considering putting my stock H-pipe back on then. I've come to the conclusion that it is almost impossible to make an X-pipe sound good.

It is normal and I'm 99.99999% sure it will do it on a stock car. That's the way it's supposed to start cold.
I personally wouldn't try to get rid of it. I'm assuming it rev's up to get the oil to the top of the engine faster or for some other beneficial reason. I doubt Ford did it just to waste gas. Every vehicle I own starts this way except my motorcycle. it idles low cold, then increases as it warms up.

yes its normal but its also amplified from the cmdp
i get it too
i start up like moose and then it kicks up higher after a few seconds and then kicks down normally,
happened after the cmdp
its ok
keep it and dont mess with it, it does it to build oil pressure faster
as soon as the car drops down you have proper oil pressure
