I currently own a 2005 Premium GT. 12k miles and no problems as of yet. IMO 05's are the way to go right now. Insurance is cheaper than a newer model for 1.Ex. An 08 v6 and an 05 GT was an $8 dollar premium change for me. The only real "packages" for a GT are your stereo, seats, and wheels. My wheels came with the Premium package that you can see in my sig. Their also wrapped in Pirellis.. another advantge of a premium. But, if all you want is speed..Then go with a Deluxe..itll save you some money. Same engine in all 05 to 09's..so find one that you like with the right amount of miles..and mod away. www.brenspeed.com and www.bamachips.com for performance..www.americanmuscle.com for looks and anything you cant find on the other sites. welcome to the forums.

I think everything has been pretty well answered in the other responses. The only thing to consider other than an s197 if you are at all considering earlier years would be an 03-04 Cobra which are very fast stock and are very easy to mod for much bigger power and are capable of supporting a ton of power on the stock block by comparison to pretty much anything. The only thing to worry about is some of them have been driven really hard by previous owners but I guess that's a risk with any used car.

I would get a 2008 Bullitt with low miles, that was a sweet looking car, no spoiler, 3.73 gears stock, 18" black chrome wheels, just bad *** looking. 2005/2006 have all sorts of annoying issues. I think most of these issues were cleaned up by 2008.

battery
clutch packs
front struts, control arms
fuel TSB
Shaker radio problems
spark plugs

That being said I would not pay any extra for a Bullitt edition, in 50 years a pristine stock Bullitt maybe worth something but the insect overlords will be running the worl by then and you know your gonna mod it !!! lol

Good luck !!

It offered a different exhaust, a variable octaine tune and a CAI

94-04 - SN95
05-09 and possably the 10' models also - S197

agreed. I got my 06 GT a couple of months ago and i love the car. However, if I had it to do over again I would probably get an 04 cobra. If anyone out there reads this and wants to trade, hit me up.

Is there a TSB that addresses the fuel pump issue?

Lots of great deals out there on low milage cars.....be patient and look daily. Picked my 06 gt auto 16k miles up a few weeks ago for only $15.6k ..... these cars are cheap to mod compared to a vette or any import. Define what mods and how fast you want to go and plan a mod budget before you buy. You will be better informed and prepared when the time comes to spend the cash. Aftermarket support is huge for this car.

good luck
