I am not exactly sure where I saw it, but you can and will find that a factory Mustang with a 3.55 rear and a 3.31 rear come with different transmission gear ratios. If you do the math, the 3.55 will launch quicker, but after that, the final ratio's are pretty close to the same. That is with both cars from the factory. I have a friend with a '07 CS GT w/ 3.55's and I havwe an '09 with a CAI and an SCT 93 octane tune with 3.31's. He does launch faster than me, but after that he cannot pull away from me. Mine will do 60 in 2nd, no problem.

Just remember that the rim sizes has nothing to do with this, it is the overall height of the rim/tire combo height that makes a difference. For example, we could have an 18 and 20 inch rim/tire combo that are both 30 inches tall because of the different sidewall heights of the tires. Just some food for thought.

3.73 is really what these cars should have come with, I am very happy with mine and they really wake up the car, first gear is plenty usable and feels as it should. the clutch isn't slipped near as much leaving a stop light.

Yes I have to agree that the 3.31 gear is not a mustang gear. She should at least come with a 3.55.
