When doing cams, do you need new retainers?
Just like the title says, looking at these cams:
http://www.brenspeed.com/127550.html
I know I need these springs to go with them:
http://www.brenspeed.com/26125-24.html
But the question is, with a install like this, do I need new retainers? like these:
http://www.brenspeed.com/700-24.html
If it makes a difference I only have 8k miles on the car. Thanks for any info.

Where does it recoemend them and why though?
I was looking at http://iihs.net/fsm/?dir=163&viewfile=Cylinder Head.pdf and it says to replace the valve seals but to inspect the caps.
Edit:
Ahh..... did find this on comps site and makes sense as compared to a stock retainer:
"New valve springs with larger diameters require new retainers to handle the higher pressures developed by the springs. COMP Cams® steel retainers are the solution. Our steel retainers are precision machined from 4140 chromemoly and finished in black oxide. These precision retainers are specifically designed for positive location when combined with COMP Cams® high-quality valve springs. For superior strength and ultimate stability, we offer our 10° retainers and our 10° valve locks."
Considering I am going to run the beehives, I would say thats the info I need there.

I was looking at those as well and was planning on getting that kit. I'd imagine it being a higher lift cam, it would be putting alot more pressure on them then the stock springs would be putting out, hence the new retainers.
Thats my guess at least... could be wrong.
