Cool Got my Pypes Violater Axle Back Mufflers today. Not much louder than stock?

I'm not sure if I like these that much. I mean it's a little louder than stock and definitely cackles when I rev it up, but I guess I was hoping for a bit louder. The salesman at Brenspeed told me they would get louder over the first month so I guess I'll just wait and see if they grow on me.

Anybody have experience with this setup?

I had the same problem with my Magnalows but after 500 miles or so it got louder. Also, get somebody to drive your car while you listen from the outside and you will be suprised how different it sounds.

They get louder after about 500-600 miles because the packing inside thermo cycles and hardens and absorbs less sound. They probably drone the most at 2000 rpm.

Alright, thanks guys. I got the setup for like $240 so if I decide in a couple months I want something louder it's not a huge loss. I'll give them some time to break in though.

All the glub glub is hidden in your midpipe. Swap that out and it will be insanely loud.
