Default Anyone tried the classic flowmasters?

I was looking online since i do want to replace my axle back flowmasters (putting on my LT's and mid pipe soon) and i noticed that flowmaster now has a "Classic" axle back with a square design. Unlike the rounded design of the ones i have. They claim it reproduces the sound of the old 5.0's. Does anyone have or has anyone heard these? Is there a difference between the new "classic" offering and the normal axle backs? By difference, i mean worth an extra $415 difference.

I'm still pi**ed that the second set of axle backs are up to the same old crap of vibrating from a loose deflector plate. How hard is it to weld these things up right the first time. Sounds like a loose cat sheild. I don't think I will be giving flowmaster anymore of my money till they fix their quality control.

Edit: Both sets I had were the first gen axle backs.

Lots of lookers, but no real answers. I guess they are too new for people to have bought them.

I have actually had my flows since almost the day they came out and never had a problem with them. I was lucky it seems.

I got mine for way less than $400 and have been fine for 6,000 miles now. They sound great and fit perfect.

I have never had a problem with the quality of Flowmasters. I just wonder if it's really 'that' much better then the old ones.

Make sure your mid-pipe is an H. Even after all of my research and listening to sound clips, I put ATs behind my Kooks x-pipe. It sounds ok but trumpets pretty bad between 1,800 and 2,300.

Some one this forum had said that Brenspeed told him that the flowmaster classics sound similar to MACs.
