Unhappy ***** Thumpr Cam problems!!!!

I have a 2008 GT Automatic with JBA short headers, Bassani o/r X pipe, axle backs and the factory shaker.

When i had the ***** Thumpr Cams installed and tuned with xcal3, they included the phasers and a stall converter. After it was tuned, the brakes would lose pressure randomly, and at times the transmission would have problems shifting, mainly into third. Along, with that, the overdrive light would come on if not driven on the highway or shifted manually. There were also occasions when the car would shut off while being driven.

If anyone one has any ideas please let me know!

Those are bad tune issues. Get a tune from brenspeed or bbr.

Ya thats what i was thinking about doing. But unfortunately it was in my back seat and my dog chewed it up. So now i need to buy a new one. The best deal would be to contact them an let them do the tuning ?

Yeah dude you need a tune bad. When I installed my detroit rockers last weekend the first tune brenspeed gave me was horrid. From 1k to 2k the trans was confused, several times it would be in drive but would not move forward, od light was blinking. I called em up and had a revised tune later that day. It cleared up all my issues. Some computors are way more sensitive than others is what they told me.

Having brake surge when coming to a stop is normal with a cammed car with a auto trans. Mine has it, but I am getting use to it.

Sorry the dog chewed your sct up too......dang mutt!! JK

Get your tuner from American Muscle and have Chris Rose make you a tune (just add a comment on the order that you want Chris Rose to make you the tunes, and make sure to request the highest octane to be a Race tune, it'll own you). They'll be the best tunes you'll ever use.

I've done a couple sets with great idle characteristics. They're a standard Comp cam grind and I've gotten the specs and hammered out idle tables, etc. Give me a shout and I'll do it for you!
