I had this problem a while back went to ford had them order it cost me $23.69, and I traded out the broken linkage with the new one in about 15 minutes. It a pain to get it back onto the caliper but a little extra pull on it goes on fine.

You know it broke from where inside the counsel. The handle that you actually pull and holds the screw is the problem. The thread of the screw is the problem. Ford says that its all one part and wants to charge me 160 bucks for the part... 360 already installed. Anyone know better idea?

It's a pretty easy repair to do yourself, especially if you have a lift. Took me maybe an hour from start to finish. There's a few articles around on adjusting the tension when you're done, too. Buy the part and grab a wrench.
