It sounds like its coming from the center of the wheel....no mods in that area of the car.

She has been at the dealership for about 6 hours and no call yet to tell what the estimate is so I am thinking it could be the wheel bearings (perhaps one broke off and is loose in the assembly), if so than its covered by warranty!!!!!

wheel bearings on the S197 dont just 'break off'
and become loose in 'the assembly'.
NUMBER 8 IN THE EXPLODED VIEW - WHEEL BEARING ASSEMBLY

That website will give you all sorts of inside info before stealershipping it.

Did you at least jack up the front wheel where the offending noise was coming from
and grab the wheel top and bottom and check the bearing free play before stealershipping it?

Sent the ol wifey? She must be a mean ol broad. Or have enourmous knockers or Kuhonies?
One needs to have a strong backbone so the stealership dont bend you over...
Or did you basically feed her to the wolves checkbook in hand?
They have her in "I am ready to go, what does it cost, fine" mode bout now.

"she" is the car ...funny reading it back though and thinking it was my wife.

Well the final answer is the wheel bearing and one of the bearings was loose and rattling around....all the work is being done under warranty.

They also found the lower control arm is "aftermarket" and the ball joint was not installed correctly and is not straight, so they almost didnt cover because of that. Guess I will have to get that fixed at some point.

On another note, they had one remaining 2010 GT, looked to be fully decked out at $34K sticker....These knuckleheads had me in there wanting to possibly take it off their hands but wouldnt go less than $28K....probably a good thing since I dont know how I feel about getting out of my 07
