USAA Price for 5.0

And no one in my wife's side has been a veteran nor an active duty military personnel.
A distant cousin was but I don't think it qualifies...
Thanks for the though anyway.

I have been a USAA members since the early 80's, a great company. I have not used the car buying program but I do know a guy here that got a new camaro through it and saved big money. If I buy a new stang, it will prolly be with the USAA program.
BackonBlack, next time just buy it on the mainland and ship it dude. I have done that twice, its no big deal at all and you'll save huge money even after paying to ship it here.

Definitely am going to do that next time. I bought mine at Windward Ford, which has a companion dealership in SoCal where I am originally from. They did knock the markup down a bit when I explained to them it was cheaper to go to SoCal but the fact that all the dealerships out here have ridiculous markups is insane.

The USAA plan is pretty good. Another excellent way to get decent discounts is the Costco Car Buying Program. I spent $45 to join CostCo in 2006 and saved over $8,000 when I bought my F-150, then got an additional $5,000 in rebates.
USAA did me right when I was with them. But they either are very cheap to you, or outrageously high. I fell under the extremely high rate. I keep them as a bank for when I'm deployed overseas though.
Those idiots over at Windward refused to sell me a 2009 F-150 last year. Wanted $42,000 for a truck that MSRP was $36,000. I waited them out for over 2 months swinging by periodically to offer my pitch of MSRP - rebates. The truck sat there for over 6 months until 2010 models were on the lot. I gave up and bought my Bullitt.

They told me the difference in price was due to "shipping" costs from Dearborne to Oahu. They refused to drop the B.S. charges, even when I brought in the Ford paperwork showing the $750 charge for shipping is the only shipping charge they pay.
They also didn't like seeing the reciept from when I shipped my F-150 and my old Mustang to the Islands for under $1,000 each. Strange.
