Talking BBK CAI

I bought my car about 6 weeks ago. Averaged 18.1 MPG first 1500 miles. Put on the BBK intake only up to 19.6 1500 miles later. Just posting because I was shocked.

Did you buy the intake for the fuel savings or power gain? Without a tune you won't get the later. And as far as fuel mileage, basing your gains on only 1500 miles AFTER only 1500 miles is pretty funny. Anyone that knows anything about average fuel mileage comparisons knows that it takes more data points of baseline (a LOT more than 1500 miles) to compare to a lot of other data points.

not bad, though I bet being that its a 07 the filter in the factory box was probably pretty dirty and most your improvement came from the BBK having a nice clean filter. I always liked that and ran it myself though! but definatly, make a tuner your next mod to take advantage of the power you can be making right now!

Neither, honestly I bought it because it was a deal. $100 for a polished one with MAF sensor.

Did not claim to know anything about fuel mileage. This is the general discussion not EPA discussion!

Just stating, put 1500 miles on car bought CAI. Since drove another 1500 just to see what the difference was. LOL

Glad you like it. I never really noticed any change in MPG when I installed mine but that wasn't the reason why it was installed. Hehe if the CAI shocks you, the tune will knock your socks off. Enjoy!

You'll love how she feels after the tune. No comparison to a no-tune CAI.

And I suppose I'm a bit jaded regarding fuel mileage after someone insisted their mudflaps had knocked about 2 MPG off his ride...

I just keep my odo on MPG. Just something since day 1 of driving I have always watched. Thanks to my grandfather he is a numbers guy. Oh yea I was shocked that the MPG went up, but yes from what I have read I should feel the tuner.

He must also have muffler bearings and blinker fluid.

All good, I have always read MPG change with CAI but in my 99 it didn't do **** Thought I'd post it
