'08 GT/CS stock to modified...
Thought I would share my most recent activity. I finally bit the bullet and purchased JBA titanium ceramic shorties and some Borla Stingers. As expected, installing the shorties was pretty time consuming and involved a lot of frustration for my go-to guy down the street who worked his *** off to get them in just right. However, thanks to just under 6 hours getting them installed, we had to put off swapping the mufflers, which I hope to get done later this week.
On the upside, it was great to drive the vehicle with just the headers and get a sense of the mod. Engine sounds stronger on power, but at idle not a noticeable difference from stock. My installer warned me about a "ticking" sound from the new headers, which is barely audible from outside the car and nonexistent inside. Getting on the gas definitely feels way more responsive and the sensation of acceleration is addictive. Stock set-up dyno'd at 263 hp and 278 lbs torque, so I can't wait to see what the numbers will be next time. Had my GM friend check it out and he confirmed that I wasn't seeing/feeling what I wanted to see/feel, the the car was definitely faster.
Lastly, it took me a while to get this video pulled together - stock engine, exhaust baseline sound, plus my outings to the dyno and drag strip - but it is now available, so hope you enjoy seeing Justine in action... CLICK HERE And yes, I know my quarter mile time was pathetic.
I'll post a new video when my exhaust swap is completed.
