Default Think my vehicle speed sensor is going out

My speedo starting acting crazy about a week ago. It will go from 30mph shoot up to 80 then back to 0 for a couple seconds over and over while driving. At first I thought it might be the stepper motor going out like I read about people having trouble with in these cars. However I noticed that the speed volume feature on the shaker system was working with what the speedo said. The volume would shoot up when the speedo went to 80 and get quiet when it dropped to 0. I hooked up my bluetooth OBD adapter which lets me read engine stats with an app on my android phone. Sure enough the ECU is sending out bad readings for the vehicle speed so I'm pretty sure it's the sensor causing it.

Does anyone have any info on how to change this sensor out? Part number or walkthrough would be great. I really don't want to take it to the dealer for this. Thanks!

I haven't looked, but it's probably buried in here. You'll have to dig: http://iihs.net/fsm/?dir=1

Thanks for the link but if it's in there I cant find it

Someone else told me I might have to drop the tranny to get to the sensor. Might have to bite the bullet for this one and take it in.
