Default C and L Cold Air intake? Saleen Supercharger?

I have a 2005 Saleen Supercharged mustang. It was dyno tuned by a shop. But today i got a good deal on a used C and L Cold Air Intake, I put it on and it drove fine. But I was doing some research and alot of sites say I have to get my car returned after installing just a cold air intake. (The Saleen Supercharges use the Stock mass air flow). I have never got my car tuned after just a cold air intake and all my mustangs were fine. Any input? Thanks!!

The tune is required when your car is stock. Since you're already supercharged, the computer has already been modified to accept more air. Adding a cold air intake at his point probably wouldn't make too much of an hp increase. I'd change the pulley to 3.6 or 3.4, you'll notice a big difference then.

Do you have a wideband?? What kind of intake did you remove?

As a point of reference, my E-force was dyno tuned with the modified stock airbox and when I poised the same question to my tuner about swapping it out for a FRPP CAI, he confirmed a new tune was needed. It may seem to run fine, but you could be rolling the dice.

If you were using the stock saleen air box (meaning the closed covered box similiar to stock) you should get a new tune. If you don't have a A/F gauge I would suggest getting one of those also, I would bet at WOT your car is leaning out which is a bad thing.

Hey OP, can you snap a pic of how the C&L racer intake looks like on the Saleen supercharger? I am interested in fitment and over all look of the CAI with the Kit...

definetly get it tuned, even if there are no issues at part throttle.
