Costco is a def good choice, cause they always take stuff back no questions asked. I never thought of that. Thanks for the tip

bought the Optima from costco. lowest price around for $130.00.
sits taller than the old battery but minor clearance issues. the smaller diameter cable coming from the positive terminal rubs a little bit of the insultation.

Good choice getting it from Costco if it dies again take it back and get a new one, as the rubbing issue since I have a aftermarket hood i dont have the rubbing issue.

This morning my wife couldn't start-up her van, so I see that it cranks slow, and it managed to start up but the electric side doors wouldn't open so I check the voltage ... 14.5V so that tells me the alternator/regulator is working. Cut the ignition and check the battery voltage ... 12.5, 12.4, 12.3 seems like it was dropping so I check 10 minutes later and it was 11.5 V; should be 12.6V if I recall correctly. So I take the battery back to Costco, received a full refund plus core no questions asked. Then I see they no longer carry the Kirkland brand instead they carry an Interstate label now. So I buy the Interstate; full replacement warranty is only 30 months instead of 36 months, but it was a few bucks cheaper. Installed it and car started up right away.

I've been getting a free replacement battery on average every two years after buying the original Kirkland battery back in 2005. I don't abuse Costco's return policy, I just return the battery when it fails, taking advantage of their good warranty. The Arizona heat and IMO the electric doors on my van never fails to kill a battery before the full replacement warranty expires.

My 05s original battery has been getting worse and worse for a while now. I finally bought a new one. The local Co-op was having a battery sale (regular 100 for 60) so I took a measuring tape and measured it and it was pretty close, so I picked it up. The problem is that the posts are the opposite as it was on my original so it was a bit of a stretch, but once tightened down its fine. Also, the battery is just a BIT wider than the original and blocks the factory hole so I cant put the strap back in the factory position. Ill figure out a different way to do it in the future.. It's a bit ghetto, but its fine and worth the savings considering Im very, very broke right now.
