Default Tranny Noise

Has anyone noticed any gear noise or clicking from the tranny when you start out? The dealer said it was gear roll-over. Thats a new one on me. I think it was their way of saying they don't know either.

Manual or Auto? Mine sounds a little like square cut gears in 1st and 2nd.

Mine makes similar noises. I just figured it was minimal sound insulation and your basic muscle car tranny noise. I've heard the same noises in older mustangs, camaros, etc...

Has anyone actually had a warranty problem with the manual tranny or clutch??

Ya, I hear it when I'm lugging it. I guess it's normal, but if someone with more motorhead sense knows better, let me know.

Hi. I just had my 05 gt (5 speed) in the shop for all of last week. I had them look at several things including this noise you are talking about. They pulled out the clutch and inspected it along with the throw out berring. They said both looked fine. They also told me that it was gear rollover and showed my the bulletin describing the noise. I wasn't totally convinced so I asked to test drive a 05 or 06 to see if it made the same noise. It did, so I believe this is a normal noise. Hope this helps.

I also have 'the noise'. For me, its most noticeable in the morning right after start up when its cold. The weird thing is that it sounds 'normal' when I have the clutch in, but makes the noise when I have the clutch disengaged and the gear-**** in neutral. It seems to be getting propressive worse, although it could be related to the dropping temperatures too. Judging by the responses, it seems to be normal.......... [sm=noooo.gif]
