If I am racing stop light to stop light I start in 2nd. 4k dump the clutch I get a nice chirp and dont have to shift.

I personally love rowing through every single gear. I don't see at as a chore at all. Maybe that's just me? I don't know. But it's why I bought a manual. And yes I definitely have come across those "I drive a stick so I'm cool" crowds. Almost feel bad for them.
