i have a stock 2000 gt 5 speed with a locked up motor. im buying a new engine from ford and i want a motor with more stock horse power than the original motor. i would like to do this without having to change the tranny if possible. any help with motor suggestions and your comments would be appreciated. thanks, steve

 

I'd go with a 99 or 01 Cobra engine, should fit fine with the same tranny and definitely more hp.

 

would you have to change anything except the motor,or would everything fit right up to it?and does anyone know labor time or even a close estimate for installation>?

 

do a mach 1/cobra swap, 4v>3v

Question...the 2000 Stang...its a smog vehicle...what state are you in...any engine that you put in it must have been available in the car from Ford in the year the car was built...just a warning, you may not be able to get it past your state inspection.

pff....state inspection. I've never once had my car "inspected" for any violations.

 

I would have to say talk with your guys over in the correct forum.. I believe we have different transmissions. and i believe the Cobra 4V will not bolt right up to our 5pd trans. Completely different bell housings and everything..
