Default Anyone convert to E85?

Alot of people are suggesting to convert to E85 while I am upgrading my fuel system.

Anyone on here do it? Is it just a tune, injectors and fuel pumps up to 800hp?

I know E85 requires about 30% more fuel and stoich is 9.86 ish...

I figured it would be great to get an extra 30 to 50rwhp at 15psi safely.

I Could be wrong but I think you got to change everything in the fuel system. That is fuel tank, all fuel lines, fuel pumps, etc etc. Mustang and Fast fords had an article on doing this on a 2000 and everything was changed out.

Most new vehicles can handle Ethanol. What you'll need, as you already mentioned, are bigger injectors, a tune, and possibly a bigger fuel pump to supply the system. One thing you might consider is a sensor that ford makes that will analyze the ethanol content, as the percentage of ethanol varies throughout the year. E85 isn't always 85%, and can go as low as 65-70%, which probably warrants a different tune.

On the tuner cars (STi, EVO, etc) people are getting some amazing results with E85.

After a little more research, it seems that corrosion it the main item of concern with e85. I wonder if the long term effects on the internals of the engine is an issue.

I drive this car once a week, if the issue is mileage and usage, not elasped time then I might as well use it.

I would Like to figure out if the gt500 pumps with the boost a pump and 80lb injectors would be enough for e85 and 700 RWHP. I am thinking it will be.
I am hearing 10% increase in power because of timing advancement.

Why not run the cylinders cooler with e85 on high boost applications. It seems like a no brainer if it is available and you can tune it....

E85, the biggest Gimmick EVER! The amount of energy it "saves" is far outweighed by the amount of energy it takes to grow/harvest/process/transport the stuff required to make E85.

not to mention you will be screwed if you ever need to drive outside of your area with it.

funny. Cause gasoline is not a scam at all lol. I can care less about the political and ecological angles on e85.

I live on long island. There are plenty of stations with it.

Worse case I load a 93 octane tune and fill up with it.

I am only concerned with what it takes to run it and do the pros outweigh the cons of fuel system and corrosive aspects of e85

No the gt500 pumps, Dual BAP, and 80lb injectors won't be enough.

We will need

ID1000 injectors $1000.00-$1200.00 for a set (last time I check)
Return style fuel system with new fuel pump(s)
High flow fuel rails

for the power level you are look for.

As for the tank, not sure on that, I will be switching to a 15gal fuel cell when we change over to E85.
