2 week old mustang merged into.
So this guy merged into me. Stupid me didn't call the cops. Old guy is all apologies and excuses at the scene. I was in his blind spot, etc. Well he goes ahead and lies to the insurance companies.
Anyway.. His wheels hit my wheels. Front and back. The body damage is very minor. I'm concerned about what damage there might be to the suspension, axle and diff.
I'm hoping someone can give me an idea of what things to look out for and verify post repair for a crash like this.
The steering column has been separated from the dash a bit.
It kinda looks like the sheet metal is warped here. Also the rubber grommet has been pushed out.
The only obvious things I can see from the engine bay. I'm not sure what those are, but they are parallel with the frame on the passenger side
Something leaked and ate the paint up.

It's being towed to the collision repair facility at the dealer I bought it from tomorrow. I'm not asking what's wrong with the car. I'm asking what I should check post repair to make sure everything is 100%.

That estimate will almost make you go in your pants. I took my car (from same situation) to a Ford collison repair place. $1800 was the cost to replace a sidescoop and take out a dent in the quarter panel. On my own, the scoop was $110 to buy, $100 to paint and then dent was $125 to fix.
Take it to a well respected collision repair shop as a 2nd estimate to compare is all I am saying.

My insurance is covering it.

If the shop you are taking it to is a reliable shop you should not have to check anything. If they are not then you should not take it to them in the first place.
I suppose you could check to see if they did a 4 wheel alinement, tire balance and check for bent wheels, tire sidewall damage, repaired your questionable steering column fit, and don't forget to make sure they cleaned the driver seat. And I can't pass this one up "Check for the loose nut behind the wheel." LOL Sorry it had to happen to your new Mustang.
