MSD cops and dead tach
I have recently decided to make the underhood look as good as the outside by installing Motorsport chrome valve covers, chrome oil-powersteering etc caps and stainless bolts in place of the standard hardware. I also have chrome BBK headers and a plenum cover so yes I am trying hard to shine it up a little underhood. I recently installed the MSD cops and was wondering if anyone else has had a good feeling about them. It seems like the car starts a little quicker but that is about all I can tell as far as a difference from the stockers. The cold air and tune is from Brenspeed. Also the tach started working again after switching to the stainless bolts. I cleaned the underhood grounds and was wondering if one of them was the ground for the gauge cluster. Tach is still not real accurate but atleast it is working again.

Aftermarket COPs have been plagued with issues so beware. They're good for a few RWHP but ONLY if you're SC'd.
The '05's and ealry '06's are plagued with chronic failure of the gauge cluster stepper motors, causing erratic and intermittent operation.

I've been using the msd's for 6 months or so. So far so good, but until they make it more than 2 years, I'll be holding my breath. The stockers just couldn't handle the pressure anymore.
I've always felt a difference with my car, but it's supercharged. Idles smoother, accelerates smoother at part throttle. I had Accel's that lasted 1 1/2 years.
