Hood shake

Hood shake
I have a 2008 Mustang GT minor up-grades and was taking a trip and wanted to see what its top end is, the problem is when I hit 125mph the hood started to shake so hard I thought it might fly off. Is this common or because of turbulence because it is stock ride height.

What would the worst that could happen think about it. I've done well over 125mph on my motorcycle and the plastic never shook but if it broke off could be the same results

Hood flapping like a bed sheet at high speeds is an age old problem with our (2005+) aluminum hoods BillE. Personally, I have never heard of any hoods flying off..... Try adjusting the front rubber bump stops and this should help some. But, For piece of mind, you can always invest in a set of good hood pins..

Hood shake on the S197's is VERY common. Try adjusting the rubber stops up about 1/2 turn, one side at a time. By virtue of this wonderful design, air is forced up under the hood, primarily at the headlights. Mine shook pretty bad at speeds over 90, wind speed/direction dependent. After a few adjustments, she's rock solid over 130.
