Yea, I have a 08 GT and I've brought it up to 145mph and it shook pretty good and my hod has the factory hood scoop and the paint around the seem is cracked. Yes, very common.

Get out of the suburbs once in a while, I promise you it's safe.
In that huge State of yours, you can really open it up.

I adjusted the hood stops and also cut a piece of 1" thick HD foam the shape of the area over the headlights...cut out holes for the stops...sprayed it black to blend in... gives the hood a great rest and stops all air from entering...I have never seen my hood move again.

Good idea, can you please post a pic of the foam installed?

Look for the highways that go through the countryside....this is AMERICA and all we have is long, straight, smooth and super wide highways for high speeds!

That car is over in storage and I wont be able to get to it for awhile...what I did was cut a piece of cardboard out to fit the area above the headlights and then used it as a pattern for the foam...the cardboard will give you an idea of what it looks like...

Yep, the hood shake is common. I've seen hoods blow up on S197 racecars and I was not interested in risking it. I added these to my car:
