Default Comp Cams hard to start

I bought my 05 GT, June 15th and haven't had any issues with it. The car does have Comp cams and longtube headers, intake , and tuned. The car has always started on the first try the first 3 weeks I owned it. Now I have to pump the gas 3 times to get it to start and sometimes it takes me up to 5 tries to get it started. It's extremely frustrating, especially when you're in hurry.

Is this something that all cammed stangs have to live with or is there a cure??

Thanks for all your help, so proud to be a GT owner(my first v8)

Jesse D.

How does it run once started? Have you done any troubleshooting? How many miles on the car? Bad gas possibly? Dirty fuel filter?

I'd have a check on the charging system done. I have a friend with a cammed Fox and anytime his battery is week it'll take a few tries to get it turning.

edit: forgot to agree about the fuel filter, it never hurts to change a $14 part on a 8 year old car.

I could start with the fuel filter. I don't see really where the battery would come into question seeing that I have to pump the gas to get it started. Thanks for the help
