1st year model INITIATE! Any other problems?
I am new to the MUSTANG forum but i have found it interesting. My profile isn't finihed, sorry no pics yet, but I have the 2005 Mustang GT/Premium, Windveil Blue "BIG SKY"-2500 miles so far.
I have had some ISSUES, but they all have been resolved. I have never had to wait more than 6 days (including weekends). There is a red carpet in the drive when I pull in. Of course it doesn't hurt that I am a bit of a gear head for a chick. At worst I am forced to ride my Harley, D@#N![sm=badbadbad.gif]
I purchased the platinum warranty upon taking ownership of the car since it is a 1st year and it has already paid for itself! Here is a short list:
1. Rear diff. rings and bearings (singing rear end)- replaced
2. Upper strut bearing assemblyand spring isolators (noisy front end)-repalced
3. Driver door lock actuator and doorlatch assemnly (key and fob did not unlock door)-replaced
4. Steering fluid leak (found when Service Manager went over enitre car after I found a screw in the floor board on the drivers side after door latch replaced)[sm=icon_flaming.gif] -repaired
other things:
ride is rougher than prior to the rear diff. repair. Something only I would be able to detect (but I still reemed the service tech for not paying attention to my concerns and not putting into the records).
Shaker skips but not enough to have it repaired yet.
Delay in transmission engagement (I have an automatic) but it will still do 0-60 in a breath!
The driver side electric window does not work every time, won't fix it til it breaks.
I have had less problems with my 1964 1/2 "Pony" (its a V8 260) in the last 5 years than in Big Sky's first 2500 miles but it is a 1st year model and I expected some of these things-JUST NOT SO SOON! Oh well better sooner than later. I am thrilled by driving Big Sky, and I don't expect that to change!
Does anyone know about the TSB re: PCM/ACM and what the problem may be? or any other problems that I haven't mentioned so I know what to look for? [sm=drlove.gif]
