2008 What is the story on Shaker 500 System running with the ignition off? Thanks a lot

 

That question leave a lot to the imagination. It can run for a few minutes after shutting off the ignition until or until you open the door. Or it could be running because there is something wrong with your ignition switch. Maybe somebody on here will have a good answer for you.

It wasn't on, at all just started making a noise like changing the disc's and the battery went dead. Thanks, for reply...

 

pretty common problem with the Shaker 500. there are some threads, mostly early ones that describe this issue. your radio is going out. you can replace with another Shaker 500 unit or upgrade to a new touch-screen Bluetooth, USB, CD/DVD head unit. I recommend going thru Crutchfield and picking one out with the options you want. they will add the mount/dash kit, harnesses (which you will need 2 metra ones if you have door subs) and if you choose to upgrade your speakers, the harnesses for those as well for free. FYI, there are a lot of HD radio channels in our area. if you need any help, send me a dm, I can install no problem.

 

I guess what you are saying is the Shaker just sits there and goes out? I am going to take the battery cables off today and put my 6 amp battery charger on it to see if it will take a charge. I will put the cables back on and listen to the Shaker, and see what is going on. I purchased from Crutchfield a long time ago for another car, good outfit. Any other thoughts would help. Thanks for your input...
