Steering wheel grinds when turning
Does anyone know why there will be grinding noises coming from the steering wheel, my steering wheel grinds when turning and it happens at random points, when it grinds you can also feel it on the gas pedal

I hope its not the electric steering rack. It will cost $2,000-$3,000 to replace 
The rack is something like $1,100, if you can replace it yourself. I think I saw a youtube video on how to replace it yourself
