Copper wire on my timing chain?!?!

Copper wire on my timing chain?!?!
Hello all, it's my first time posting here so I hope this finds you well.
To cut the story short, I am completely dumbfounded at this time. I recently installed some Ford Performance Hot rod cams into my 2005 mustang gt. The install went well I followed the instructions to a tee and torqued everything to spec. Even got a new tune from Brenspeed.
Anyway, I went to start it afterwards and it turned over, briefly started, then the engine died. So I tried again a few times. First thought was I botched the cam install but I don't think so. I opened the oil fill cap and looked into it and there is copper wire all around my timing chain and gear. I have no idea how that would have gotten in there. I didn't drop anything when I was doing my install, I didn't pinch any wires, and my gasket and RTV all went on just fine.
If anyone and any ideas as how this would have happened please let me know.
