Exterior car modification is like a balanced diet. Done in moderation anything is acceptable........as long as you don't overdo it. But in the end, I believe that ppl should do whatever makes them like their ride better. Take me for example. There were just about NO new GT's around my area for the longest time. So I go and pick up my shiny new black GT from the dealership one day. I'm loving it. I think "I'm gonna leave it stock looking, it is beautiful". The next week, I pass a woman going the other way in ANOTHER, BLACK, 05 GT!!![sm=violent053.gif] So........instantly, I'm like "OK, I change my mind..........I AM putting those Shelby stripes on now!"
I'm sorry, but mustangs are everywhere. And though there aren't too many new styles in my area right now, just give it time........that'll change. And if we ALL leave our rides looking stock......then how the hell are we gonna find our stangs in the parking lots????[:'(]
P.S. Tho I am gonna do some classic GT500 elements to my car.........I AM gonna be running on upgraded suspension and pushing out 410-425 hp at the wheels. I think that earns me the right to make her sport some of her Shelby chromosomes.

I agree with Ms. Pickett. He doesn't deny anybody's right to do what they want to do to their ride, he's simply expressing his personal disgust where, in my opinion, appropriate.
I live in S.F. Bay Area, about 1 mile from a Ford dealership with about 20 Stage 2 Roush Mustangs lined up side by side. Personally, I think the Roush kits are even too much. If I see one on the road I appreciate it. But the road is not a race track and being out on the street waving that around seems silly to me. Nonetheless, it has its place..........as do overzealous car owners who put ridiculous shiiiiiite on their rides. Ultimately, we don't own the fastest cars on the planet folks. I learned this earlier this week when I fixed up my 2 week old '06 GT against a four year old BMW 540 that held me off on a busy, curvy expressway. However, like a previous poster stated, "If all the cars looked the same, then it wouldn't be fun now would it." So, what that quote meant to me is that when a car stands out visually, it's worth something...........and i do believe that's true. I wouldn't trade my '06 GT for a 7 series '06 BMW (unless I had a buyer lined up). Nonetheless, I think there's something to be said for couth.

Man I can't believe this thread has been resurected again. I've resisted replying before but now just can't. Wilson, you certainly have the right to think whatever you want and the right to express your feelings. I question the decision to come on a forum where so many people spend so much of their time and money on modifying their vehicle for their personal satisfaction and to express themselves. Whatever though, that's your opinion and riht to speak so have at it.
I will say technically your point is TOTALLY wrong though. You say that when people add this stuff to their cars they are trashing a perfectly good Mustang and that's not how they are supposed to be? Who made you the authority on what a Mustang should look like? You'e only 32 years old, you weren't even around when these cars were driven. I'm 43 and trust me, there were plenty of guys putting hood scoops and spoilers on their cars. The difference is the parts weren't as readily available. You say the scoops and stuff trash the look of the Mustang but look at what Shelby did, did he trash it too? The Cervini's kit is one of the wildest out there (IMO) and it's to simulate a modern version of what Shelby did with the GT-500 back in the day. Albeit a more modern version that Shelby himself might have even gone for if he had the parts available. Only Shelby could answer that.
For those of you that don't like the extra scoops, spoilers, wings or whatever on a Mustang, here's some advice - Don't put them on YOUR car! That doesn't mean your opinion is right and you know what is best for the Mustang in general so leave others to do what they want with their car. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean someone else is wrong. There are plenty of people that have done tons of stuff that I wouldn't dream of doing to my car but - IT ISN'T MY CAR! -Joe

I only read the first couple of posts but that was enough. I almost agree with you until that last part about mommy and daddy not paying enough attention to you. I mean thats just a childish statement. And the guy who posted after you about it being cool for someone else to throw on whatever they want as long as they are happy, is true. I love the look of some bodykits, and i plan on mabe getting one along with some 20 inch chrome rims and other stuff becasue "I" like it. I could give a ***t less what anyone else thinks of my car. I like it and thats all that matters. I would be worried about why you feel the need to rip on other people when they are doing soemthing they like. You are the one who needs to see somoene about your problems.

well that shouldnt beee.. my friend used to have a 2002 bmw 540i.. and i always spanked it,, then he got rid of it and got a bmw 550i .. i didnt run him yet but im sure i got it... i drove it... it doesnt feel as fast.. but besides my other friend has a bmw 545i and i always pull on him hard when i was stock... and now i really leave him..
damn spoiled brats lol.
I have owned a 1982,85, 87, 95, and 01 GT's and a 03 Cobra. I now own a 06 GT. Personally, I would rather spend my money on performance options. I think that the cars look classier if left looking stock. If someone wants to tar and feather their Mustang, I'll
shake my head and laugh at their taste in cars, but to each their own. I'm 46, so the cleaner the design, the better it looks to me.
I'll spend my cash on horsepower.
