If I remember correctly, the S1000 is $1200 appx. The S500 comes with the premium package. Now, I'm not an audio guy but I'm sure you can do a hell of a lot better than that for $1200. Good choices on everything else!

Well Lord H,

Generally, up north here one can get 5% off sticker with that many options at a big dealer with lots of GTs in stock. Your car would sticker out at about 29-30k plus tax
A basic good supercharger installed is about another 4-5k k depending where you get it. That would take you up to about 400 hp and 400 torque
So for about 35k youd have a car up there close to the Shelby for easily 10k less. Also insurance would be much less too.
Some folks are getting mid to high 13s in the bone stock GTs so I would think mid to high 12s are possible

Daleys Stangs .....
Never had even one issue with any of these wonderful highway cars besides 3 very graceful and safe tire blow outs on the road.
Silver 99 GT (traded in at 36k miles for below Cobra Vert))
Black 99 Cobra Vert with a white top (traded in at 60k miles for below Cobra)
True Blue 01 Cobra (Traded in at 116k miles for below GT)
Black 06 GT (800 miles so far)

I made this post in a different thread but it STILL applies...

Here's the facts regarding the Shelby:

1. 1/3 of all production is already committed overseas.
2. No deaslership will receive more than three (3) cars of the first run.
3. Most dealerships will only receive two (2) cars.
4. The owner of most of the dealerships will keep one (1) of the cars
5. His friend will get the other one for around 70K
6. They will be kept in garages and/or trailered for show

Bottom Line - You will not get the first year Shelby Cobra so pay whatever saleen asks if you like them. Ford has made 0 announcements on production numbers following the first year so it's not even a safe bet to say you'll get one in 08' or 09'.

ORIGINAL: Lord Hemming

I appreciate your thoughts everyone, a 2006 GT it is then, as I'm not into paying a dealer inflated prices for cars.

So now the spec, is the Shaker 1000 upgrade worth the cash? It says in the handout it comes with Audiophile speakers???

The spec I think I am going to order is:-

Torch Red
Black Leather
Manual Box
18" Premium Wheels - performance tires
Alarm
Wheel locks
Interior Upgrade pack
side airbags
Spoiler delete

Possible Shaker 1000?

Anyone recomend an iPod connector?

What is the price folks are paying for the cars? Dealers are telling me sticker price, has anyone got a discount????????

Thanks again!
Hey Lord - I saw your car on a hauler heading across I-64 near Evansville, IN this past week. Thats the fastest build I've hear of yet The sticker on that puppy (appeared to be all the options you listed above) was $30,345

The Shaker 1000 basically adds 500 watts and (2) 10" subs in the trunk. So if you are in to deep low end bass coming from the trunk then you would be satisfied. The Shaker 500 has everyting else the same - except the subs in the trunk. 500 has 8" subs in the doors, which sound pretty good - but I prefer a little lower end bass to be coming from the trunk.
