Default Mustang dyno #'s.. differ then other dynos?

Alright so i had my car on the dyno this week.. I put down 265 rwhp and 278 tq. Now im wondering is that low? My mods consist of Long tubes x pipe and cat back which is all slp as in my sig. And a k/n filter. I thought it was low but then the guys at the shop told me its a mustang dyno which will give you a lower rating then a "normal dyno" no idea wat the difference is. Does anyone know if there is a difference and if so wat would i be aroundon a"normal dyno".. ?

Yes, supposedly the mustang dyno's read lower then dynojet's.... not sure why... but you should be around 285-300rwhp... not quite sure but somewhere around there.

Mustang Dynos use what is known as an "Eddy Current" to place a load on the dyno. When the dyno is set up there is a program that factors in the weight, and drag of a givin car. This will allow for a more real world simulation and also allows cars to "road tuned" on the dyno. You can litterally drive the car on the dyno just like the street and the dyno puts the corect load on the rollers. A Dynojet, on the other hand does not do this (although they are coming out with thier own version with an Eddy Current generator). Instead the Dynojet relys on the weight of the rollers and a simple mathmatical formula to find the RWHP of a car. When we convert to Dynojet numbers we multiply your Mustang Dyno #'s X 1.1. So your 265 RWHP is about 292 and your 278 is 308. Keep in mind that no two dynos will ever show the same numbers (hell the same dyno will show different numbers from morning to evening)and weather on a givin day will play a big role.

only track i have been to is my local 1/8th mile. i only ran a 8.8 @ 80 some mph. But i was on street tires and launching at idle. so if you run some radials and leave at a decent rpm you should make lower 8's i would think. not sure what in the 1/4. I saw a guy at englishtown NJ run a 13.2 i think it was with a 2003 mach1 with bassani x and bassani cat backs
