just wondering
im 17 years old and i have a 94 v6 convertible. its not very fast and its not the best looking car on earth but i have a dream! when i turn 18 19 or 20 i want a red or an orange mach 1, manual tranny of course and i was wondering how much do yall think those cars will cost by then? im thinking that since it was a special limited edition car that it will probably grow in value and i was wondering how much yall think theyd be worth by then!
any thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated

Glad to her a 17 yearold not complaining for once! I started with a v6 to.. Then a Gt, hopefuly a cobra later on. Anyways to awnser your question right now they are going for around 15-17k and I dont believe that price will go up with the new body style out. U could probably score a mach 1 used in 2 or 3 years for 14,900 with average miles on it.
Hey man I feel you exactly. Started with an 02 V6, though not fast, it was very sexy for a V6, then decided hey wtf @ me not having a muscle car. So I looked and looked on autotrader, cars.com, carmax, etc and sure enough at a carmax there was one with 7500 awaiting my arrival for about 22k. It was basically brand new! And now here I am a sexy young man driving a sexy car.
It was definitely a step up going from like 160-170 rwhp to 270-280 rwhp. Is there one complaint about this transition? HELLLLLL NO! [sm=icon_rock.gif]

how much would insurance be on this? i mean ive got a pretty clean record.... kinda
1 speeding ticket, 64 in a 40 (that sixxer might be slow but itll move lol)
other than that ive got a perfect record, no points on my license and i get "ok" grades
do you think itd be bad? and im not worried about gas mileage cuz as most of you guys who had v6 mustangs know, they dont get good gas mileage (18 if i ***** foot it)

Well i went from about $100 a month to about $200. So it's rough + payments. Thank god I have a decent father understand a young bastards craving for american muscle that he's willing to help with the monthly payments while I do gas/insurance/mods/maintenance. I'd say it's a fair trade. I'm working max hours for part time right now and barely being able to make these payments but is it worth it? **** YEAH DUDE! THE STRESS IS WORTH IT BABY!!!
i know on sixxers we usually do the simple stuff like cai, udp, exhaust, intake spacer and if we have the money a turbo or a super but what do you do to a mach 1 other than a supercharger? does it respond well to bolt ons? what kind of exhaust set up do yall tend to go with? any certain brand preferences?
and do the mach 1s have any problems? the 94-98 sixxers go through head gaskets and the 99-04 crack the exhaust manifolds but i want to know if the mach 1 has any problems like that

First off since the Mach is a 4v is responds to mods VERY well. More Machers seems to go with a ram air intake rather than a cold air intake just to keep the shaker scoop funtional. Not many do UDP's as there have been problems with them so to speak. Honestly, I doubt udp's would do anything for our cars anyways. Then also the usual upgrades, full exhaust, gears, short throw shifter, intake spacer,springs/shocks/struts. Seems like most like to keep their Mach's n/a but sadly we have the same limits as GT's do because of the weak rods/pistons.
And you asked about exhaust. The 4v engine has a different sound than does a 2v. What alot of people do for the BEST sound for the STOCK midpipe is the slp loudmouth 1's. But honestly, you could go with any setup and it'll sound badass on a 4v. Alot of people recommend Bassani for the 4v but you can also just get Flowmasters or MAC for the chambered. A newer line of exhaust called MRT makes a very high quality chambered catback that gets about as close to the old 60's muscle cars as you can get. I've heard it in person, with an o/r x pipe and longtube headers.
I think I covered most lol. I'm not too sure about the usual problems for mach's but im sure others will chime in
