So I had a couple of scratches in my front bumper in a 4 by 4 in. area and I used that touch up paint kit and let me say it looks like s**t, works great on small scratches but anything bigger than a couple 16ths of an inch it sucks because you gotta use the small brush. I was thinking of going to Home Depot and getting some spray paint and some primer and isolate that area with newspaper and sand it down and painting it. My question is, will some enamel paint do, or do I gotta get something else? Thanks.
I dont think you can use enamel paint over base coat clear coat one way or the other it will react creating bubbles. Enamel is more like a glue very durable and alot easier to wheel. Base coat clear has more depth but isnt as durable. You tried a touch up kit and it wasnt to your liking why I sugested taking it to a body shop and not wasting any money on a fix you will not be happy with. I am not saying paint the whole car just the bumper a good painter will be able to blend it to match.

Its actually came out ok its just the the spray paint came out a little lighter but smooth like a babys butt, I'll try another coat to see if it gets a little darker. If not, I got my eye on a '99 cobra bumper someone I know is selling, I just gotta have it painted and installed.

There is also a company called cleartech that makes clear plastic bras that are virtually invisible, very thin. This protects your car for any time of stone bruises, bugs, etc. One of my buddies has a cleartech on his porsche and it works and looks great, you have to know that its there to see it.
