Smile Cost to forge

im going to be buying a mach 1 and i wanted to know how much it would cost to put a forged rod and pistons in. parts prices? labor? ill be getting a 5 speed so it will already have a forged crank in it.

im one of those guys that wont be able to buy a cobra and is going to be buying a mach 1. a mach 1 is a great car and foundation to start with for my project car. i love to drag race.

thanks for your replies Jared

It depends on which parts you use but that is about the price for the forged short block in the end.

in the dfw tx area 500 to pull motor 500 to install motor about another 500 for machine work 500 for assembly then the price of parts. thats at the main places. I decided to pull my motor and am having a guy build/install it that a buddy of mine used. I ordered JE forged pistons/mod max rings $850, manley forged H beam rods $530, got gaskets/head bolts from a friend that works at ford for about $200, my total is gonna come out to about 3000
