I'll tell you the same thing I tell everybody that asks about making more power on these cars, the best bang for the buck is a 100shot of nitrous! If installed correctly, it's safe, and relatively inexpensive compared to any other form of forced induction.

That being said, I have a buddy who went ebay shopping, and got himself a slightly used Procharger P1SC kit for $2500 delivered to his door, the supporting fuel and air system upgrades and tuning by one of the best in the country for a grand total of about $4k! The car has about 86k miles on it, and 45k of that with the Procharger. He runs between 8-9lb. of boost and puts down 465rwhp and runs high 11's at the track. All on a stock motor.

As for me, I totally blew my inheritance and went top shelf on everything LOL!

if your going to boost it you need to get lower compression pistons or go with a different head gasket to lower compression.

i would go with longtubes and CAMS and tune.

Not if you're not going over 450whp.

I wouldn't mind being at around 400 to the wheels. Nothing over the top. I never beat on my car, even since I got the 4.10's put in, but I like having the power there when I want/need it. Otherwise, I drive "normal".

few things....

-if you want power but scared of the car blowing up sell it..power = problems. if you wanna play you gotta pay
-dont think goin the bolt on route will be 100% safe...i just blew my trans and clutch too pieces
-i dont know exactly what is done to your car but there other other things you should look at first before going F/I..like exhaust, intake, fuel support, clutch, tires, suspension etc..
-if you have the money id go with a turbo, but if not i am a fan of prochargers you can pick up any used s/c for ~3-3.5g's some kits even cheaper

I bought my T-trim kit for 2k and it came with injectors, maf, and a svt focus pump. had it on the car and in the same week warped a head. I pulled the heads off/motor out then sent the block out and had it rebuilt. I spent like 700 on pistons, 500 on rods, 200 rod bearings, 200 gaskets, 900 on machine work(block bored .020 over, valve job on heads, everything balanced), $500 engine assembly. Probably a few others things in there. I then added a front mount IC setup for a few hundred, bought a MAFIA used for $100. Got a cobra dual pump hat for free then bought a second focus pump so I could run dual focus pumps. $500 for sct chip/tune. Bought a used aluminum flywheel/clutch that had 500 miles on it for 300(owner went auto).

All that total is I think 5100, so figure 5500 cause all the other random misc stuff.

Bought the car with 49,000 miles 2 yrs ago for 14,900, now it has 75000 on it with about 10,000 on the new engine.

The car has a lot of other mods, but those are the ones related to the engine/blower setup.

Would there be anything "wrong" or "pointless" if I were to maybe build up the engine (forged internals) first, to prepare for a blower in the future? Of course, assuming I could only do one or the other (building up the engine and getting a blower at the same time being NOT an option).
