I recently bit the bullet letting a shop diagnose my vehicle and charge me sky high for something i easily could have done.

Does anyone know of a nice obd II scanner to let me know what the codes are and what they mean (diagnose the codes).

Will a tuner come with this ability and if so, is it worth it getting the tuner instead? thanks a ton.

 

ok, bought a run of the mill scanner b/c the light came on again. same code po307 and po316. what gives? new plugs and new #7 coil are on the damn thing. i cleared it and went for a ride and it didnt come back on again....yet. it most likely will. any tips? thanks

 

can you tell a noticeable misfire? or so far just a code saying there is

 

were the codes cleared after the plugs and coil were replaced?

 

yes the codes were cleared after the fix and i do not notice any driveability issues. runs strong actually

 

compression test reveals no compression in #7 cylinder. oh boy....

i just think the car runs too well for something to be seriously wrong. what could this mean? new valves? new head? new gasket?
